1. The Comet Is Coming
The album artwork by the incredible Daniel Martin Diaz was the whole brief.
That and the album title - Hyper Dimensional Expansion Beam.
From these, their team at Impulse(UMG) needed:
- Youtube visualisers & Spotify canvases
- Social content for several single releases
- Tour announcements & localised social promo
- Versatile VJ package for live dates
The original artwork was crafted the old-fashioned way, without digital layering. So our starting point was simply a high-res scan of the cover.
In the middle of the design is this curious contraption:
We started by building this as a 3D model:
We also find these intriguing illustrations:
Which we turned into this, among other things.
Then riffing on that creative, we built out the world with additional assets like this fractal pyramid in Notch:

2. Three More Samples
of a small folder of approved assets turned into a versatile visual world that everyone loves.
Music - Jacob Collier
Another UMG project, constructed mostly out of YouTube downloads.
Corporate - Atomico Investor Summit
A nice deck helps confirm creative direction with all stakeholders prior to splashing all the cash.
Sport - West Ham United
Projects are surprisingly often an invitation to succeed where others have failed, usually for lack of either technical or creative panache. My ongoing relationship with West Ham United falls into this category.
